My Style SoulMate

In high school I fell in love with the style of someone I didn't know personally. As much as I watched her on TV, I felt like I identified with her very much. I loved to write, I loved vintage, fashion, and most of all, New York City! I liked sitting in coffee shops and writing down my thoughts. I had a thing for mixing prints and patterns and I absolutely loved color.

In college, I felt like I channeled my inner Carrie Bradshaw. I was a Sex and the City fanatic. I've seen almost every episode! I remember having my mother buy me the series on DVD and send it in one of her special "care packages". As long as I can remember, I have admired the style of Carrie Bradshaw-Preston.

Fast forward... a few years ago I scored a "hippie" style knitted floral sweater at a thrift shop. This top was so me, I couldn't fathom leaving it behind.  A year after I bought this sweater, I was sitting in my studio apartment watching one of my favorite series, Sex and the City and I spotted my thrifted find on none other than Carrie Bradshaw herself. I had to take a double look. I couldn't believe it. After admiring her style for so long, I was excited to see that we truly shared the same love and passion for fashion. I found my style soul mate. I wondered where Carrie had gotten her sweater? Did she find it at vintage market or did she purchase it retail? Either way, Carrie knows style and for that reason, we have much in common.

I recently wore the sweater again on New Years Eve and the universe began to work in my favor. For so long, I  couldn't seem to find that episode again. The day I decided to wear the sweater, I was flicking through channels to see what was on TV (I rarely watch TV so I'm def not up to date on what's new) and I came across Sex and the City. Of course I would watch it, especially because I only go to TV to watch old shows anyway. Not even 10 minutes into the episode, I see Carrie sitting in a restaurant wearing my sweater! What were the odds of that? I vowed that I would blog about it that day... didn't get around to it with all of the closet cleaning and reorganizing I had going on. So here it is. I tried to capture the sweater the best I could via my TV screen. Enjoy!
